Message: Alright, how many of you guys run the Jet State 2 Chips, i want to know if they really work, and what is the pro's and con's of these things. I found them on Summit Racing for $249 for the V-6 Dakotas, i also plan to buy at 180 tstat with this purchase if i go thro with it. Any response from anyone on these chips would be great! Oh yeah, i have a Airade intake and Flowmaster Dumped exaust on the truck already. Thanx in advance.

Message: I have had a JET Stage II chip in my Dakota for almost 3 years now. I ordered mine from Summit too. Works awesome! Are you prepared to run 91 octane? What year is your truck?

Message: I am also interested in a Jet Stage II Chip.
I have these mods on my 1996 3.9 auto trans already:
Home made cold air intake
IAT moved to intake
Crower 1.7 rr
asp complete underdrive pulley set
V8 thottle body with top milled off
S bolt
JBA headers
brass contacts in cap and rotor
Autolite 3923 spark plugs
Flowmaster muffler
I have two questions, will the Jet Stage II chip work with these mods and will it improve my auto trans or should I get a shift kit?
Thanks. This forum is the the greatest!

Message: I have a Stage II as well in my 2000 3.9L 5-speed. I'm not nearly modded out as some of you guys (yet) :) I do know that Jet recommends an intake, exhaust work, and 180 T-stat for the chip, as well as 91 octane.
I have no idea about the auto-tranny shift points, it seems to me that it probally won't make a difference since it's my understanding that the chip just 'tweaks' sensor information. Do some checking on Ebay before you get a new chip though, I managed to get mine for $100 and I'm loving every dime of it. :0)

Message: Hey Guys, I'm interested in the Jet chip vs the Venom, from the research that I've been doing, I'm not so sure the the Jet chip or Venom chip for that matter is worth the money. I know that if you get a custom flash on your PCM, it probally will be a better mod. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

Message: I took the chip out of my 94 Dak 3.9 auto. I don't feel any difference with out it, still shifts the same. I don't think it done that much I was running 89 octane with no pinging and pulling a boat.

Stiinc,
No the chip does not raise or remove any limiters, sorry. Currently the only sheet I have been able to find is the 2000 w/ Stage1. The shift points will also not be affected.
thank you,

Message: Hey Stiinc;
That is basically what I found out from Jet today.
I am beginning to think the chip doesn't do a lot.
A 180 thermostat will help some anyway. I wish I could get an IAT adjuster or the schematics on how to make one. I think it would be provide as good or better HP gains that a Jet Chip for far less $$$$.
