What trans is used in a 96 Dakota 3.9l? It's a 5 speed manual. I've heard it can be an NV3500 or an AX15. It's time to install new synchros.

BTW it's a 2wd truck. Does anyone know a source for a rebuild kit and manual, or at least a website with the torque specs and clearances?

Rebuild kits are available at many places... Try www.kdsperformance.com or www.netgearhead.com They both specialize in transmissions, and offer a program that can find the transmission In your truck.

More than likely you have an AX15 like i have in my '96. Dodge didnt start putting the NV3500's in the V6 Daks until around 2000
