 Subject: '02 Dak - NO engine sound insulation

What's up with that? My brand new '02 sounds louder than my '96 did, same engine and everything.
I am considering going to a junkyard and seeing if they would have anything. Anybody else do anything like this? I haven't checked to see if they removed the mounts for the insulation fasteners yet or not. Not that it's super loud, but it's louder than my last one.

If your talking about the under hood pad, they dropped it on the 01's as well

Yeah, one and the same. I know they probably did it as a cost cutting measure or something but still. I wouldn't have minded it as an option!
Next time I get under the hood I'll look for the holes to mount it. Then I might call on the new pad.

my 98 dak didn't come with insulation or even an underhood light...the wire harness is there but no wire's or light to the hood!?!?!
98 RC V6 auto modifications: LOTS ! ! !

Looks like the hood insulation was only available from 1999-2000.
