I just put on my homebrew intake which is just a fernco 90 with a 1.5 foot peice of snap together house air vent and the good old 6x9 k&n and I wanted to test this 4.3 Xtreme thing so thier is this guy named rusty in town that has one all vamped up with a chip and intake and flows so I seen him rolling around and asked him to race and I have removed my v6 badges so I let it rev behind him for a min then I pulled up next to him and ask if he wanted to go for it. So their is about a 8 mile staightaway in our town that goes to a factory that we all race on and it has been marked for the 8th and 25th of a mile.It was about 50 outside and my truck runs real good in the cold so I was real happy about that and so he was revving his engine and it sounded like shiznit like all the other 4.3's do (they sound bulky not powerful)and I could hear my v6 just revving nice and easy from 1500 to 4000 chirping them to warm the tires. So then we took off and I got a late start so I had about half a truck to catch on so I let it smooth til I hit the shift point and I was gone I caught him in notime I slammed it out of Overdrive and the extra downshift made it possible for me to leave him and I ended up beating him by about a truck and a half. This is just what I did to the little chevy and speed is good but I baught my Dak because it is just built better with more room and options then the low budget s-10's and Rangers.

extremes arent that much faster than us, theres tons of em around here and i F with em all day, NONE have ever really spanked me real bad, yes ive been beat, and yes they have mods like me, i dont see why everyone doughting our dakotas. and yes i know dakota 175 hp s-10 190 dakota more weight s-10 less weight, well it doest really show on the streets, that just what i think

2Bluedak I don't know where you live but in Indiana their are more than a few v6 daks with those mods that kick s10 a$$ everyday. I like this message board but it seems that their are alot of lil b!tch's in here who can't drive and get mad whenever they lose and say how slow their dak is well don't hate on me because I know how to drive my truck. ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE and shut the hell up I beat the S10 and the Tacoma and the Ranger just because you don't win doesn't mean I lose to0.

dude i put a spanking on them xtreme 4.3's i have got beat by one but ran 13's in the 1/4 mile. s10's the only thing they have on me is there weight but my truck will still smoke them. And rangers........there not even worth the gas to race. and just b/c you have a slow dakota that doesnt beat sh!t doesnt mean everybody else has.....and i am still waiting on my V8 TB cant wait to put that on!!!

I don't know about the s-10 but from 0 to 85 my slug is faster than a s/c nissan. That made me happy. I do know that the 4.3 puts out a decent amount of torque

Some s-10 drivers are smart. One of my friends has a 5speed, 4banger Somoma with traction bars(I don't know why), rims, tires, and flowmaster exhaust. I asked him if he wanted to race and he was like "hell naw!". I got a big kick out of that.
