Subject: Wierd idle problem, can anyone help? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1997 Dakota automatic v6. The truck appears to run fine except when I stop somewhere and take the truck from being in gear, (Drive, Reverse) to Park, the truck almost dies for a few seconds and then it corrects itself and idles fine. It idles fine when driving, (at a stop light, etc.). I did replace the IEC valve and that didn't help. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Message: sounds similar to when my dak was dying whenever i was coming to a stop, had to two-foot it until i rigged a spacer on the throttle til i took it in for work. they cleaned the TB and said that a piece of plastic from my air hat broke off and went down into the tb and wouldnt allow it to shut properly... your tb might need a cleaning, just an idea...
