Message: it should, but just how much do the amp and system use? I would just put on the crank pulley. If you put on more than that you will either cause the engine to run hotter or use up more battery power. By just using a crank pulley you only need 900 rpm to maintain full battery charge. The power gain from the crank pulley should be at least a strong 5 HP, and 7 lbs of torque. It helps a ton down in the lower rpm band with torque.
Hope this helps ya.

Message: well if you hurry you can get one off of truckperformance.com on sale for $50. I ordered mine last night. Regualarly they cost like $67 or so plus a new belt. It is a cheap and no brain must do mod for the truck. the HP/ dollar ratio is very high.

Message: the $50 on truckperformance.com was for a limited time only, they had 10 extra in their inventory so they listed them at a lower price. apparently they sold those 10 rather quickly.

No change in the positioning of the amp-meter, it -might- be a little lower at idle but really I can't say for sure. Middle to High end didn't see a difference, but without that extra drag, the low end seems to pick up faster. If all you have is a 300w Amp (More than enough for a truck I would think), you should be fine. If not, you can always upgrade to a higher amp altenator, or just not turn the radio way up at idle. :o)

Message: I'm pulling this up because this is my next mod (I'm sick of everything I do moving me up in the power band), and I wanted to see what kind of luck that Jeremy had.
I think I'm gonna skip the alternator pulley, there really doesn't seem to be any reason to change it anyhow.
Just curious, but how long did it take to change the crank pulley, and should I just do my electric fan at the same time? I got a '97 V6.
