Everyone says that it depends on the ability of the driver as to what you can get in the 1/4 mile. When running an automatic transmisison how does the driver matter?? Don't you just slam the pedel to the floor and the truck goes on its own?? How does the driver affect the times? What are some tips for racing with our trucks,v6's, that could help lower times??

Well one thing that the driver in an auto has to be good at is his reaction time once the tree lights up. If he's a slug and waits to hit the gas once he see's the green the guy/girl next to you is long gone. You have to anticipate the light from what i understand. I may be wrong but thats what i've been told. No i haven't raced on a 1/4 track yet so if i'm wrong please correct me.

overdrive should be off. your reaction time has got to be good but that should go with out sayin. some my friends with automatics do a thing called "speed shiftin"(thats what they call it, might be called somethin else) where they put it in first and then 2nd then 3rd then drive so its kinda like manual but i find just leavin my dak in drive more effective. but thats just me
