i don't mean to be a pain and i've posted this many times but still can't make a decision. I had a kind of generic intake on, don't even know what kind, got it off of ebay. I do know that it was not very long, it hung right over the top of the valve cover, didn't even make it to the headlight so i'm kind of thinking it was not even made for my truck. Anyways i took the flap off in the front, reset computer, and the truck ran awful. came to the conclusion that it was probly sucking too much warm air from the engine. Now i have a K&N in the factory air box, reset the computer back to that, and it runs great!! No other mods yet either! I just want to know if anyone else has experienced poorer running conditions from intakes, and if i get one or make one that is actually gonna take in cold air, will it really make a difference?

Im'm just courious of why you keep resetting your computer. Just think of it like this, if your have intake with out exhaust, it is like trying to breath out of a straw. I really have no idea why that your truck would run like that but no truck is the same.

i would just disconnect the battery, thought it would help the computer learn faster between the factory air box and the intake. I want to put either a flow 40 or 50 on. I want a real nice sound but not ricy!! I'm really hoping this will help with the intake situation.
