Subject: 89 dak wont shift into OD IP: Logged
Message: I have a 89 dak, 210K runs great, has a shift kit that is getting tired and you have to let off the gas a little or press the gas a little to make it shift. That wasnt a problem till lately when it started to not shift into od at all. i havent replaced the tranny filter yet but wanted to see what the concensous was?
Thanks,
Mark

Message: I had the same problem in very cold weather (less than -20C).
Found out that it's normal for my 2001, don't know about '89.
I assume you're in Canada (you list your mileage in km) and it's been damn cold all over the country lately.
I was speaking with a co-worker from Timmins, Ont and he said that all the Dodge trucks up there become three speeds for most of the winter.
It's hell on the gas mileage.

Message: next step, speed sensor, or the wiring to it
my wires runnign to it were bad
so it would shift between OD and Drive, then it would stick in Drive
