Hello all, I'm back if you remember me from last summer/fall. I had some money problems from buying me MRS a new car, and the engine in my show truck crap out. I still have my dakota, and I'm starting to feel the urge for some more power as the car I bought the MRS will outrun this thing.

Heres what all you guys had me do last summer...
1. Cold air intake
2. Relocated IAT
3. 180 T- stat
4. 3923 Plugs
5. Dynomax 17748 w/dump
6. Tb spacer (wistler)
7. Brass cap/rotor
8. Asp Crank Pully
9. V8 Tb with removed horns
10. Tb Told down trick.

Now, I got a dremel for x-mas so when it warms up, I'm going to clean up the TB a bit more.

I had to sell my FMS injectors I had for it :( but I also found the formula for injector ratings, and I'm wondering if 21 lb would be more needed then 19s??

As for next power goodie, after upgrading to 8mm wires is coil?? Has anyone made a BETTER oem replacement coil yet?? No hacking of the wires!!

Next on my list as of last fall should be the 1.7 rockers?? Has price lowered, wheres cheapest place to get them?? Has anyone found taller valve covers so I don't have to double gasket them??

Has anything new come up besides headers/turbos/elec fan which is all stuff I DO NOT want to do to this engine?

Much thanks all!!

About the rockers: I got mine from http://www.socaldakota.com/. They just arived today. Sam will also send a pair of prepped and powdercoated valve covers. They are modified stock ones. I don't think anyone makes higher ones at the moment...

By the way: How about an electric fan? And I saw that ASE makes some chip for the 3.9, check it out at http://www.asechips.com/...

Didn't know ase made chips, will check into that.

As above, I DO NOT want to do electric fan on this ride. I have one on my show truck, and on my camaro, and they all "overheat" just sitting at a light, etc.

Dude "hacking" the wires for a custom coil is a bit harsh, its two little tiny wires so two butt connectors and shrink tube can handle it.
I put an old reliable Accell Super coil on mine.
I'll put a pict of it up in my profile if I can find one.

Ive got a cheap ass 2000cfm elec fan, I have never had any problem heat wise with mine. I cant even turn it on in the winter or I have no heat!! I like the elec fan with a master switch because when I race I can turn it off for that much less drag on the engine.

Sorry about the elec fan... guess I should read more carefully. I just installed one in my truck (and a 180 TStat), no problems so far. Well temperatures are kinda low here at this time of the year, so I might change my opinion in summer (hope not)...

Well, my show truck, I put the largest hayden fan they have. 16 or 18" and it overheats in town.

Camaro one is all stock, it will overheat in drive thru and sitting at a light.

I just dislike them I guess, and noticed very little gain over the amount of time/money I spent.

Any other ideas??

I think that's about it then unless you want to go porting the intake manifold or do some work on your cylinder heads, install a stroker kit or any of those more serious engine tuning tricks. I am out of ideas...

How are you satisfied with the ASP pulley? No problems with charging when idling in heavy traffic?

Nope, no problems with crank pully other then the way you install dodge pully is different then GM pullys.

I don't have any large stereos or anything like that. Just an alarm that is broke right now, and an in dash aftermarket cd player.

So where are some rockers, and how much they costing now. I know last fall they were outragious in price.

Not wanting to do intake/head/block/turbo work. I doubt I will ever go far enough to take that stuff apart on my dialy driver.

Thanks, will be thinking about the pulley... I think the rockers are still outrageous: $ 335.- at socaldakota. I paid it and it hurt, but I hope to have a lot of fun with them once they are installed... (and will forget the price).

I hear you talkin of pulleys on your other rides also? You may be blaming your overheating problem on the wrong parts then, pulleys can make a vehicle overheat.

Never had overheat problems on the s10 tell I did the elec fan. Put stock mechanical back on, presto, fixed.

Camaro, well, I put pullys on it before it even ran, and it came stock with elec fan. I do know it doesn't spin like I think it should. I can watch the blades spin.

Sounds like you may not have it hooked up right.
I think mine spins @ about 2k, if yours is spinning at the proper rpm I dont think you'd be able to watch the blades spin, I may be wrong but I cant see mine.

If you have an insufficent power supply to it, it will spin slower. It needs a constant 12v or higher and the only real way to do that is a relay as close as possible to the fan and battery with the heaviest gauge wire feeding the fan.
I have 10 gauge feeding mine.
