Subject: Next mod? IP: Logged
Message: What would be the next mod to do without going through too much trouble? I have an 02 SXT reg cab V6. Got Flowmaster exhaust, Intense Performance intake, and Fastman TB. Will do the Autolite plugs at next service. Waiting for warmer weather for the 180 T-stat. At this point would a jet chip do anything? Headers? Not sure on how to install them.

Message: go ahead and put in an electric fan, new pullies,
and find some headers. new wires, upgrade the
ignition. if its a 5spd with the NV-3500, get
yourself a hurst shifter. (one of my favorite
mods) so theres more than a few things you can do.

Message: R,
i believe that the only headers for our truck are made by jba, and you can get the nickel ones for around $330 or so...as far as the jet chip goes, i wouldn't spend the $200 that jet wants for it, the only reason that i have one is because my buddy sold it to me for $65...the IAT adjuster mod that speedtweaks has on their "tips and tricks" is a more cost effective way to get pretty much the same performance costing around $30-35 in parts, many people on here don't like the jet chip, but i took mine off once to see the difference, and i could tell that there was a loss in hp without it
Erik,
i think that the set that most people are getting for that year of truck are the edelbrock, the headers that you'll need are different from the ones that R needs
hope this helps,
Brian

Message: Sorry.. A little late in responding here. Thanks all for the input. Will be thinking of what to do next, although the AIT adjustment seems logical. Just got to do a little more research on it as far as emissions and so forth.
