My 98 Dakota V6 has a slight miss/rough idle at low rpms. When I am sitting at a light, I can feel the engine miss. Mechanic feels it too. I just did a complete tuneup 1 week ago and it still does it. Everything scopes out fine according to the mechanic on the computer. I have 54,000 miles on it. Regardless of what the computer says, there is NO WAY this is normal. Any ideas?

The v6 is not the smoothest thing out there, due to the design and how much/many times it fires for one revolution. There are things that people do to "smooth'em out". Use the search engine and type in plugs, wires ...and all that stuff. 54,000 miles or there around is a make or break time , IMO, cause if they haven't been done right...there done! Lots o luck

Try TSB (service bulliten) 18-48-98
It re routes the spark plug and coil wires to prevent "induction effects" causing
-spark knock
-various single cylinde misfire
-surge in 4th gear
-Preceived torque converter engagement

I dont know if it works, but it sounds good.

try smelling the oil for gas and then try lighting it on the dipstick
also take a look at your coil ,and make sure that the laminated plates are not beginning to separate
