Message: I would hate to amplify the sound of any v6, but I agree that the stock muffler can be restrictive and wastes HP. I drew up plans for my own custom exhaust a while back and am waiting for more money before I bring it to a shop to do the welding and bending. Basically it consists of a y pipe and a pair of single center/offset reversible 2.0" mufflers mufflers like the Turbo ones that Thrush sells. You can choose to retain the catlytic converter or bypass it, but basically your stock exhaust consists of a 2" pipe merging with another 2" pipe into a 2.5" pipe. You attach a 2.5"-to-dual 2" outlet y-pipe and run your 2" mufflers in parallel and either join them back into one with another y-pipe and retain the stock tailpipe or run both of them back over the axle. I measured the channel for the exhaust and there IS enough room for this if you stagger the mufflers. I personally think this parallel muffler setup would be the only way to achieve a low, quiet sound with a flow improvement over stock.

Message: well in my 2000 v6 club cab sport, i had a glass pack put on at first from flow master but it got way too loud, but then i went over to the magna flow dealer and he put on a magna flow that gave me better performance then the glass pack, and it got rid of the piss off hornet sound when i floored it. i know its not what you are looking for, but its just a thought
