WooHoo....

After some minor "tweaking" on the fuel system, we've got a new best time for the V6:

14.68 @ 95.01mph

Bear in mind that this is still on the factory heads, intake (mildly modified), and factory camshaft.

With heads, manifold and a cam, you should easily be in the 13's. Maybe high 12's!

I'll need some slicks pretty soon as the wheel slip is starting to affect the 1/8 mile times. (9.46 @ 75.07mph)

Yup..with the cam, modified heads, slicks, and speed-limiter removed (finally), i'm calculating right about a mid to high 13 in the 1/4 mile.

(This was still with the 19# FMS injectors...they're been replace with 24# versions but the modification to the plenum divider, runners, and "cleanup" work is what was done.)

for 2000 v6s do you need to to get the the 00-01 powerdyne for 5.2/5.9 for $3200 or could i get the 97-99 for $2600?
also how much is the 10# or 9# conversion pulley?? and is it safe to use
and while im on the subject important is it to get headers and catback before hand???

silly question for bernd. Why don't you drop a 5.9 v8 in that thing and modify from there? It doesn't seem like money is a problem for you based on what you have done already :-)

Joe. Because they are trying to find out what they can get out of a V6. If you check out the project trucks page at Speedtweaks, you can see that they have more than one Dakota being worked on. And I am pretty sure he has a V8 that they are modifying. Don't quote me though.

LIBlackdak: Yup...40HP "Sneeky Pete" Dry Shot. Keeps the air charge nice and cold (and this builds very useable power). No, you don't have to get the '00+ model, but it comes with the MSD 6AL-BTM. The '97-99 model doesn't. WIth the 6# pulley, you shouldn't need the timing retard (some do though) but with the 9#+, it's safer to use some form of timing retard. We just swap the pulley on the blower before shipping to the customer. The 10# pulley is a custom piece - $45 extra. Definitely get all the basics done first before bolting on a blower - TB, Headers, Exhaust, 180 T'stat (at minimum).

StealWings: Yup...40HP Dry Shot

Joe: Because after the new longblock goes in (cam/heads/pistons/etc.)...she'll be more than capable of running low to mid-13's. This is what the average Nitrouse'd R/T is running.

DakKid: HP wise, it'll be about the same.

BTW: Yes, we are working with one other person (not our sponsored truck) and are trying to get the most out of the truck WITHOUT changing the PCM (using 100% stock/factory PCM). We're shooting for mid 11's (which isn't unrealistic). Currently, the project truck is running 12.88 @ 111mph on street tires.

Oh man that's old. ;)

The Super eRam was a dual (very high volume) electric fan that pushed about 750CFM when ON. With the dual eRams, I was able to get 1psi boost under WOT. (This was about two years ago.)

dakkid,
The super e-ram is a little "turbine" that fits
in-line with your intake. The company claims
that it can make appx. 1 pound of boost. here
is the website to check it out at:
www.electricsupercharger.com, it is a little
pricey for 5- 15 hp

Hey Joe. Other than the injectors of which I'm waiting to see if Lesley or anyone else gets any improvement out of it, I'm done. Plus I'm happy with what I have. Problably kick your ass off the road. The reason I say Nitrous is that some brackets don't let you use it. Greg

Bernd - why is it so difficult to get a pcm flashed, I'm surprised that with the amount of people wanting it done that there aren't more places that can do it. Is this something that Speedtweaks may offer in the foreseeable future?

Geeze, I'm just saying not everyone runs nitrous. That's all. And Joe, take a chill pill. I was responding to what you said about Bernd and nitrous. I know he runs nitrous. Just wondering if he did on those times. That's it. Sorry for any confusion. And also I have a question for you Grasshopper(Bernd). My 48m Throttle body doesn't seem to run right. At throttle it runs great but at idle and warmed up, tap the throttle and it goes to 3000rpm and drops. I changed out the IAC valve and no change. You said one time that when you put on your Throttle body you had to tweek the Map sensor and Idle Air Control Valve. What did you do to fix this? Thanks Greg
