Message: Usually found on high milage vehicles. Poor ring seal between the piston and cylinder wall. The oil becomes "fuel fouled". The oil level in the crank case will even began rising in severe cases. Fuel fouling symptoms usually show up most noticably after long distance, high speed hiway travel. High amounts of crank case ventalation vapors will usually be present.

Message: It could also be the belly pan gasket. I read in a past post that when it is bad, the motor can actually suck up oil into the combustion chamber, which would mix it with fuel and make the truck run real bad.

Message: when was the last time the plugs/wires/cap were changed? A misfire in a cylinder can cause this - so can a bad fuel injector

Message: Idling your truck in the winter to warm it up for 15 minutes is probably the worst culprit. Lots of stop and go, idling in traffic. Modern engines only need 30 seconds to warm up and driving them will warm them up in a minute or two... saves fuel too.
