Subject: steering column IP: Logged
Message: i was wondering if someone could help me out. I am getting a grinding like noise coming from what appears to be the steering column while i brake or the weight of the car moves downward on the engine. Has anyone else had this happen, and could give me some advice on how to fix this. I got a 97 cc.
THANKS GUYS

Message: I had rattling/clunking in the steering column under similar circumstances. turned out to be the spot where the column attaches to the steering box. there is a clamp onthe end of the column which tightens over the spline (coming out of the Steering Box) via a single Bolt. this bolt hat worked loose, the steering had also gone sloppy (alot of free play), i was only a step away from losing my steering completely.
