To those driving on the stock Goodyear Wrangles: At less than 15000 miles three of the four tires on my 01 Dak began to split. This was not dry wrot but just bad construction. They began to seprate close to the bead area with splits as long as 4in. and deep engounh to hold a quarter. Goodyear refused to replace them at full cost giving the standard BS excuse's. Check your tires. If other have had this happen please post here. There are LIVES at stake with this type of S**^ work being put on vehilces of any kind.

I used to work for Goodyear as a tire salesman. It was a company owned store and not a franchise. You can not tell by the appearance or services offered if it is either one. Company owned stores are a little more generous when it comes to warranty claims. Our policy was to pro-rate the tires unless they has less than 2/32 of wear. If i liked the customer I could always "misread" the tread depth gauge and give the customer an extra 32nd or two. It makes quite a big difference on the pro-rate chart. You might want to call Goodyear customer servive. They hat it when people bitch and usually cave in and give them what ever they want. Good luck.

Thats who I did bitch to because I felt that the tire dealer was screwing me over. But I got screwed all the way around. The most inportant thing was the way the tires were coming apart. Remains me of the Firestone problem.

I am surprised they would not assist you. The tires are however under warranty. They will be pro-rated and you will have to pay for the amount of use you got from your tires. That is only fair. You most likely will still get screwed. The amount of credit that you get towards the new tires will not be much. Plus, they will apply the credit toward the list price of the new tires. The list price on Goodyear tires is very high. You might almost be better of going to a discount tire dealer and getting 4 brand new tires of another brand. Try Sam's,Costco or BJ's. I also managed a tire dept. for Sams for 5 years. We had the best return policy I have ever seen and our prices were great. As a last resort you might want to try bitching at your dealer.
