Message: was wondering if anyone else had this problem. When i start my truck from a cold start and even if i let it warm up when i accelerate the truck cuts out right around 2400-2500 rpms. it does the same thing if i keep it in third gear and hold it aroun 3000 rpms. then after running for about 10 min it is fine. Dealer said there are no codes, in other words, NORMAL!! I beg to differ!!! it is a 3.9 2002.

Message: This is the best that I can come up with-- I think that when the engine is cold the computer limits the horse power to keep the block or any internal componants from getting hurt. So untill its geting warmed or warmed up it wont let you hurt it. My truck won't power brake when its cold but it sure as hell will when its warm.

Message: Maybe, it is real annoying though! It does it even when it is not cold, just from starting after sitting awhile when it is warmer like 50-60 degrees it does it. Guess it is just a dodge thing!!

Message: The time that I was trying to power brake it was in the middle of the summer and it was in the 90's, the engine was just cold. It might be something on newer vehicals because my chrysler never did this and still doesen't and my moms 98 grand cherokee doesn't do it, but than again I dont drive it to much.

Message: My 2001 3.9 5-speed has done that since the day i bought it and it is annoying but i find that as long as you shift alittle early until it's warm you'll never know the difference..... Here's one for ya???? my 2001 never engages the clutch fan no matter how hot it is.... It has come on maybe 3 times in the 2 years i've owned it and i do have an electric also, so can anyone tell me if maybe my motor just doesn't run very hot or is the electric kickin in to cool things down...( i've never heard the fan come on )

Message: I have noticed the brakes not being very sensitive when it is cold, mostly i notice it when i back up quick and try to stop quick, they suck!! But how often do you drive backwards? Yeah, i guess shifting earlier is the key, oh well i still love the truck, i used to have a 4.3 sonoma, i hated it. This truck puts that one to shame. Don't know about the clutch fan thing, i only got mine in november, it hasn't been hot enough yet to find out i guess.

Message: If the clutch fan is the really loud fan then I've had mine engage a few times since I got the truck in July. It's usually pretty random though. Normally it would do it on a warm/hot day when I just start it up and go. During the winter it's only done it maybe once or twice and that's when I don't warm it up before I leave. I've also noticed that when mine's cold it will hesitate before shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. It's not like I redline or anything, it just shifts a lot later and the rpm's are higher than usual.

Message: Sometimes my truck will not power brake on level ground....I have to be moving alittle bit and then hit the brake and stomp the gas to get them to turn over...but once they turn over it smoke's them.

Message: 2000 Dakota 3.9 V6 Hard starting when cold. Will not idle without stalling. Once engine is warmed up it seems to run fine. Any ideas as to what might be the problem ?
