 Subject: V-6 Performance Parts

I have a 93 Dakota Sport with the 3.9 V-6. I have put the Flowmaster Series 40 Duals on and your basic K&N Filter for little power gains. I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a performance cam for the 3.9 V-6. I have looked but haven't see one, does anybody know if there is one? I am looking to get some more power out of the engine, or is there any other mods that can be done to the 3.9 at a modest cost. Thank you.

Do you have dual mufflers, or a Flowmaster 40 with dual outs? If it's dual mufflers, your loosing so much backpressure that your negating any gains.

Todd, I beg to differ. The stock "cat foward" system creates enough back pressure that even if you sawed the exhaust off after the cat, bottom end torque would only suffer a little and higher rpm power would improve slightly...well in therory, anyway.

Jimbo, read back throughout this message board for stuff like relocating the AIT senser, V8 throttle body swapping, getting cooler air to that K&N, 1.7 rocker arms, 3.91 gears, synthetic lubricants in every thing, 60psi in your tires, removing weight..etc..etc..etc..

60 psi in your tires? I wouldn't recommend that to anyone unless you have some kind of farm tractor tires on your truck.
Wouldn't want any other!
