well if only u lived close to me man my ranger wit my 302 n 4:10 gears would eat a sierra alive!!!! mojo even though ur a dodge guy u might get a laugh at this i saw this guy at our local car hang out n he had a nice lookin red dakota r/t 5.9 stick, he goes to burnout n his tires wernt smokin but his clutch sure n hell was he thought his tires were boilin cuz he saw smoke but he kinda lost 2nd n 3rd gear!!! ight im out peace

That is what happens when someone without
experience tries to burnout with a manual.
Simply put the guy had too much brake
pressure applied. By nature the front brakes
grab first and with more force, then the rear
grabs, this is just how braking systems are
designed. By applying too much pressure he
was not letting the rear get any power thus
causing the clutch to fry. Ron this can happen
to any vehicle. The surprising thing is that
truck should have stalled. Kinda makes you
respect the torque of those 5.9s.

actually i have buddies with dakotas n they fuking hate them so i dont bout the torque in tha 5.9 dont have one n will never own a dodge unless its n older muscle car like a charger

they dont come with them.. but the big racing guys with sponser put them in them.. plus with a simple programmer you can add a 3rd gear selection on automatics (though not manual)

I dont know why you people have to brag about why the dodge ram srt-10 is so much better than the ford lightning. Of course its going to beat the 03 lightning, its got a freakin' V-10 for god sakes!! IF the lightning had a giant V-10 like the ram srt-10, im sure the lightning would SMOKE IT!! We all know in the back of our minds that ford is # 1 in the automotive industry, they sell more, they have the best engines, they come up with their own original ideas, (dodge and chevy COPY!!) and they have the best interior, and exterior styiling, now the only thing i would buy other than a ford is a dodge, because chevys just plain suck, so look in the mirror people we all know the truth.

If the Lightning had a V10 and we supercharged the SRT-10's V10 to match it...your little Lightning would have it's ass handed to it once again. Unlike Ford, Dodge can kick ass WITHOUT supercharging their engines.

If Dodge supercharged a v8 like Ford did and stuck it in the SRT-10, it'd still blow the F-150 Lightning away... Dodge just chooses to be smart. They use bigger engines...not supercharged ones.

Umm dodge didnt copy anyone with the introduction of the SRT-10 they were the first to put a v10 in a truck, thats not copying thats inovation, they outdid ford and chevy there and another thing the SRT-10 just toppled the lightning for the land speed record so the srt-10 is now the worlds fastest production truck...read about it http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/040202/dem012_1.html

the ram also had a V10 before the SRT-10
being the fastest production truck with a street/smog legal 500 hp V10 sure does blow...
while 5.4 liters with a supercharger can only muster 380... darn
kenny bell has a supercharged 5.7 hemi with more than 500 hp.. now would that be comparing "apples to apples" with a s/c ford lightning?

that blower on the 5.7 is not the onlything done tothe hemi.. but if u wana compair light that fine, what about the 05 l? thats got 500 hp and know that truck is not goin to be any where near 132's im seeing it goin mid 12's, and satock for stock i bet the L is goin to hook up alot better then the ram. ur also compairing a aftermarket blower to a stock $hitty ass ford blower

Yeah the lightnings supercharger isnt produced by ford its produced by Eaton. Granted Eaton has been in bed with ford since 1984 on all sorts of projects but they are completely seperate companies. If you are such a ford and lightning enthusiast then what are you doing on a dakota website? Its pretty immature and a waste of time in my opinion when guys (no matter what their age is) come on here and flame on about chevys and fords when there on a dodge website.

I dont think there is anything wrong with lightnings (I used to have a 93 lightning actually and loved it) but i do think there is something wrong with punks coming on here and bashing dodges on a dodge website.
