Message: recently i took the elbow off my airbox, dropped a K&N in, and ran tubing straight to the front of the grille. I think it might actually be creating a vacuum out of the airbox instead of getting more air cause it seems to run a little worse. It runs better when i have the elbow on, pulling still air from inside the fender. I think intakes are a waste of money too, they are just as long as the factory tubing and they suck hot air off the engine and for what you pay it is not worth it. Does anyone have dyno results with and w/out an intake? I mean, maybe they do work but it just seems like they look better than they work. I think on older cars they do good but most of the new cars from factory have better intake systems than the older cars, factory seems to be optimizing for better intakes. Sometimes i think you might be better off just leaving the factory stuff the way it is unless you got tons of money to blow. Exhaust is good, chip maybe, plugs and wires, not sure! who knows!!! Every vehicle is different.
