Subject: No heat! IP: Logged
Message: I replaced the water pump on my 96 Dakota 3.9 with no problems. But then my temperature gauge would fluxuate. So I was told that I had an airlock in my cooling system. So I drained the system, acid flushed, back flushed through the heater core. And had good flow.Replaced new thermostat and used a special funnel to refill with antifreeze, distilled water, and oil pump lube. Now my gauge seems stable but the heater does not blow hot air. I can take the cap off an hour or more after it has been idleing. I can stick my finger in the radiator coolant and it's only warm. I can look inside the radiator and the coolant never looks like it's circulating. Have I missed something or done something wrong? Or is the new thermostat bad? HELP!

Message: well check out the heating system it is easy thermostat, radiator, waterpump, heater core pretty much. how is your water level if it is leaking in your cab on the floorboard your heater core might be busted. check the water level and look under car for leaks and how high is your thermostat set check that out.

Message: Dude, if you have no leaks you either have a bad thermostat or it is in backwards.

Message: Ok another heating question. New thermostat, no leaks, engine replaced, with system flushed, temp gauge normal, but in cold weather it takes up to 2 hours to get inside warm? Also window fogs up easily, any ideas? This doesnt pertain to my dak, but in my wife's dodge avenger (POS).. Could it be a semi blocked heater core line, heater core?? Car acted this way before engine replacement, so I think I can safely rule out water pump, and thermostat, any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
