 Subject: 48mm Throttle body problem

Hey Bernd,
I installed the 48mm Throttle Body from F&B on my 3.9L the other day. Went on fine. No problems with installation, everything matched up. Problem is that the idle was a little high from when it was stock and it tends to go to 2500 RPM for a few seconds when you tap the throttle. I adjusted the throttle position sensor at 70 milivolts. I did adjust the idle down with an allen wrench but when it's cold I have a hard time starting it so I put it back the way it was. Is there any fixes to this or is it normal until the computer can learn it. Thanks, Greg

Reset the PCM and start the truck WITHOUT tapping the accelerator pedal. Let the truck "find" the correct idle (PCM does this but it takes about a minute). Once it's idled for about a minute, turn the truck off...wait a few seconds, and then restart it.

I have a 1990 pontiac grand am, 2.5L quad 4 and there is gas and oil coming up through the throttle body

joe, here's a tip. If you create a new post you'll be much more likely to get a helpful response. Dredging up a two year old post is a bad idea especially since you tried to change the topic anyways.
