Subject: electric fan question IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 V6 with 2 fans - the engine driven one and the electric fan. I am going to take of the heavy engine driven one soon but have some questions:
Do I leave the stock fan shroud on or is it just dead weight?
It can get hot here in Utah in the summer - about 105 deg - and I am worried about the little stock electric fan having the umph to keep things cool. If its not going to do the job then I have already decided to get a Black Magic fan, but should the stock electric fan be removed? If I take it off what do I do with the wires? How about using the stock electric as a pusher?

Message: The stock electric one will definitely not be enough, but if you have room, you can leave it on after you add the black magic fan. Wire up the black magic fan to come on with the key, but be SURE to use a relay or you'll fry your ignition switch.
