Like Chris said 2 years ago, lol... code 55 means "end of codes." If all you got was a 55 then there is nothing wrong as far as codes go.

The information I have lists:
950=The instrument cluster is not receiving an ABS -on message from the CAB
999=An error has been discovered
Troubleshooting the 950:
(1)Check the CCD data bus at the CAB.
(2)Check the CAB fuse

no oil pressure means
Bad pump
or
clogged filter
or
no oil
or
gage is bad and you really do have pressure.
Best thing to do is not drive untill you figure it out. Nothing good can come of low oil pressure.
i guess if the computer is reading no pressure and shutting down the truck, it would be smarter that (well, no insult) you.

yes do not drive the truck with any kind of low pressure issue. we went thru this on a 96 acura integra, the pump was being goofy and would work sometimes...it made it look like the sending unit was being goofy, so we ignored it after we checked it (when the pump was working). so we drove 400 miles on 4lbs of pressure and ate the bearings for breakfast.

I CHANGED THE WATER PUMP,THERMOSTAT,HOSES,AND THE FAN BELT ON MY 97 DAKOTA AND IT STILL HEATS UP ,BUT ONLY ON THE STREETS ON THE FREEWAY ITS FINE, ANY IDEAS?

I get an error code 36.
Before I checked the V6 would idle up and down and then the check engine light would come on. Once the engine light comes on, it dies at stops, but starts up after. Can you tell me what the 36 is?

I have a 1999 Dakota 2 wheel drive error code P1492 and my Oil,Gas,and Alt gages go up and down
at differant times. Some times they are working ok and then they will either go way up or way down. At Auto zone they said it was the Battery temperature sensor. Please advise.
