Subject: replacement of Rear Speakers IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone (with ease) replace their 6 1/2 rear speakers? Club Cab need a few tips. I feel as thought I'm going to rip the cheap plastic panels. Thank you

Message: Take your time, the panel has several snaps. Pay close attention to how the seat belts hang. I think they have the only screws you have to remove. Most after market 6 1/2 speakers require an adapter. Check the audio forum, several people have opted for 6/9 speakers with a home made adapter.

Message: not sure about the cc interior, but i do know that you can get plugs to plug into the factory plugs for the speakers so that you can hook up after market speakers. They are very nice, no cutting at all!!!

Message: Actually i just did that very thing in my 96 dak last weekend. Once you get the panels out the hard work is done. I don't know what year you have but the adaptor for my truck didn't exist i made some with some high density ply wood by cutting it into a large oval then cutting a hole in the middle for the round speaker. Then i justdrilled new holes in the body to mount the "bracket" and attached it with some long self tapping screws that came with my speakers. Also i would recomend that you use machine screws with lock-nuts or nuts and treadlock because i imagine after a couple of months of the speakers vibrating any self-tapping screws would pull out of the plywood.
