It's a lot of work, but not real complicated. You would need to have a good set of tools with extensions and swivels and a good selection of sockets. As far as how hard the job actually is i would get a Haynes manual so you can see whats involved and decide if you can do it.

You should feel lucky, my oil pump went out and it cost me $4000.
The oil pump went out, causing the enigne not to get lubricated, thus causing a piston rod to fly through the oil pan.
$4000 and one V8 later it still doesn't run correctly. It's really fast though!
