Message: Okay, after trolling a bit, I see that there are some common problems with the auto tranny in the dakotas, but here's one I haven't seen here yet.
I have a totally stock '00 SLT/3.9 auto with 45K miles. Over the past few days, the truck will not seem to shift DOWN to 1st, and so I am accelerating from a stop in 2nd gear. No matter what I do, I cannot get her in 1st. After a couple days of this, the engine light came on. Any suggestions?
