Subject: F&B Throttle Bodies IP: Logged
Message: Hey all,
After a long hiatus of not wanting to play with my truck too much, I finally did the install of my F&B throttle body. Not a tough job for anyone with mechanical inclinements. Took me about 3-1/2 hours including modifying the air hat and cleaning the K&N filter. No pics or workup of the process, but the instructions that come with the TB are top notch. I also did the V8 throttle cable swap, but only out of necessity... I bought the TB back in April of this year, and the only ones SoCal Dakotas (link on my site) had were V8 linkages. So, being the good guy that he is, I also recieved a V8 throttle cable at no extra cost for the production error.
The major difference I notice is in the "feel" of the pedal. The return springs on the TB valves are a LOT stronger than the stock V6 Magnum. Shift points changed a little and the engine picked up about 200 rpms at the top end. Thought I would share with the group...
