I imagine this is common practice these days.

Message: not at all after you get the bed off. You need to use the hammer and chisel methold. Kinda like opening a stubborn jar. It spins counter clockwise, pull it replace it, reconnect the wires and you are done. Simple for the most part.

Message: we just put in a fuel pump on a 94 3.9 liter v6 and i was wonderin how many volts were commin out of the harness at the pump. i was also wondering how many wires should test hot at the harness. i am not a machanic but we try to doit ourselfs to save the labor charge.i do beleave that there was 5 wires and only 1 tested hot. at the relay 3 out of 5 tested hot so does that mean that there is a wiring problem somewhere along the way or does only 1 at the harness only test hot.

Message: 1996 Dodge dakota 2 wheel drive , V6 3.9 liter fuel pump problems. Pulled box off replaced fuel pump. Went to try it and no start , dumped fuel down the throttle body and would start until it runs out of the gas i dumped in. Now i tested the distrubution bow for fuel pump relay and tested 9 volts , went to fuel pump and tested 9 volts. Which wire should be hot and what should be the proper voltage? And i hear there my be common wire promblems at the distrubution box . Which wire should i be looking for to be shorted out? And should i have 12 volts right from the battery to the relay box and back to fuel pump ? Please someone help i'm getting frustrated with it.

Message: I've heard it's easier to remove the bed... it's like remove 6 or 8 bolts and unplug the wires that run under the truck (taillights and such) and then it takes 2 or 3 people to lift the bed off. Sure beats bench pressing the fuel tank and/or having to worry about draining the gas and refilling it.

Message: When I do mine, I'll just drive the tank until it's empty. I don't care, lowering a tank is a hell of a lot less hassle than getting 3 people to help you remove your freakin' bed!
