Subject: Idle Sensor IP: Logged
Message: I am trying to locate the idle sensor on my 95 Dodge Dakota V6. Can someone tell me where it is located. I have removed the intake cover but I do not see it..assuming I know what I would be looking for. I just paid a thousand bucks to have my kids car fixed and now my truck has stopped. My ex (mechanic) said it is most likely the idle sensor) so I am trying to find it to replace it myself. The truck starts and runs but if you let off the accelerator, it immediately stops running.

Message: It is on the back side of the throttle body. Black round cylinder about 1.5 in ches long with four wires going to it. Before you spend the money try place it try cleaning it. Look at www.speedtweaks.net under the tips and tricks section. It is under how to cean your throttle body and how to clean your IAC motor which is what you are talking about.

Message: Thanks for everyone's help. But alas, the tow truck cometh. I couldnt get the old one off myself so I am having the repair shop rip me off. It is nice to know I have some place to come when I have a problem though. Bulletin Boards for computer help aren't nearly so nice or as helpful. The last time I asked for help on one of those they just made fun of me. Thanks all and Merry Christmas.
