Message: Just looking for some tips. I just got a 2002 dak sport 3.9 manual, 4x2. Used to have a sonoma 4.3 and this 3.9 runs much better. I'm a little dissappointed with off the line performance, not much torque. Truck seems to cut out if you get on the gas to quick! Is this a dodge signature or is there something wrong with my truck? I'm open to any suggestions as far as getting a little more horse/torque if possible and spending little to no money for now anyways. I tried a cold air intake, my opinion it ran worse cause it was getting too much hot air off the manifold. Had a lot of popping through the throttle body too!! Want to get an exhaust system, maybe a chip too but wanted to see if anyone has done this and if it really TRUELY is worth spending the money for the little bit of gain that you MIGHT get. Also, anyone with manual have acceleration problems from 2nd to 3rd, just coming into 3rd in other words. What is this IAC relocation, what kind of sensor is this? thanks in advance and if someone could please give me some suggestions. What is Chrysler like as far as mods and warranty, bought the powertrain warranty, don't want it to get wasted!!

Message: You have the right idea starting with an air intake, for the exhaust stay with 2.5". If you can afford a good cat-back system go for it otherwise go for a more free flowing muffler to replace the stock one. If you don't want to spend the money then thats about all you can do except for a good set of plugs, wires, cap and rotar. The wires, cap, rotar and cap will just make sure that you have good spark, probable won't give you any extra HP.
On the other hand if you want to spend a few greenbacks get a 48mm throttle body and a set of JBA headers to accomidate the intake and exhaust.
All of these will help you get some more seat of the pants feeling.

Message: i have a 00 and heres my mods and what they cost.
jsut to give you a basic idea.
airaid intake $150
Jba Headers $300
Flowmaster 30 series delta flow $100 (including
extra piping to run it straight out the back
Jba wires $60
asp underdrive pully $50
those are all my performance mods for right now
and as you can see none of it is terribly
expensive. if you want some more launch off the
line upgrade your gears. and get a posi-lock if
you don;t alreayd have one. what size gears do you
have? and then theres the trottle body, and roller
rockers for around $350. you could go with the
electric fan for around $100 including the extras
you'd need, as for the warrenty and iac relocation
go to Speedtweaks.net and go to their tips and
tricks. be weary of purchasing from them. while
they may be good guys and jsut having a few
problems with their business they have left their
fair share of people dissapointed. including
myself. however they do have alot of information
that is useful. and jsut ask questions. someone on
this board is bound to know the answer. Best of
luck
Greg
