Subject: Porting a TB IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone have detailed instructions porting there throttle body? How Could removing that little bit of metal not flush with the surface make much of a diffrence?

That little bit of metal in the bore of the TB is called a Torque Step, If you have ever had your TB off open and close the throttle blades and you will see that the blades will move about a 1/4" before they start to actually let air pass. This is good for a work truck as it keeps you from jerking things around when you take off fast (factory built in hesitation)
If you don't have the money for a TB it would work with a stock V6 TB and make a nice difference in your throttle response, but a V8 or 48mm F&B TB is nicer.

Message: What tools do you use to port your TB's? Dremel, or something with more grunt to it?

I used a Dremel on mine, used cutoff wheels on the airhorns then started with the small course sanding drums and worked to the finer ones.
