Subject: Dynomax 17748 and Home brew intake IP: Logged
Message: I got the dynomax super turbo #17748 for xmas.
I'm thinkin of doing the home brew intake with abs tubing. I read some of you saying the sound with the intake is cool. would the dynomax and intake sound weird/annoying together or would it make it sound better?
will i get a big performance gain from both installed?
thanks for you time,
arick

Message: I have the 17748, and an intake, and both sound pretty damn cool together. But it will not sound like a V8, youeant a V8 sound, get a V8, other than that, it doesnt sound bad to me at all..

Message: If the truck is a 4x4 Regular Cab, the #17748 is too long -I know, I tried o put one on my '98 4x4 RC 3.9/auto.
Since I was trying to get a MPG/sound increase only (my OE muffler was in good shape) I didn't want to screw around too much and just left it alone. It can be made to work, but it would require MUCH pipe shortening and bracket relocation.
For some reason the 4x4 RC muffler seems to be a shorter, odd duck (total muffler body length is 16 3/4 inches).
