Subject: 4th or 5th? IP: Logged
Message: When racing or for top speed should you leave it in 4th or switch to 5th gear? 5th seems more for overdrive and doesnt have any pickup.

Message: when you're done racing, put it in fifth... that's how i think of it. now, if you want to go into the hundreds, then play it by ear. no rule set up on where you should shift, just when you think you should. now, remember, once the engine hits the thick of the torque band, you're going to feel a lot of pickup... and esprecially when you start hitting the upper horsepower.

Message: How high can you let the RPM run before you
HAVE to shift it though? the dak puts out max
hp at something like 4800 rpm it says. let it
run up to that or should you shift earlier. i run
mine up to about 3500 usually
