I just wanted to get it straight that intake and exaust do NOT do that much. The MOST any intake can actually do is add about 10 horsepower, and a full exaust system inlcuding headers, downpipes, and cat. converter can only give you about 20 horsepower at MOST. So if these two things are done, and you got another 30 horsepower, then your 0-60 time might decrease by about .2 to .3 seconds and your 1/4 mile by about .6 or .7 seconds. And then a chip like this one dude says give about 5 to 10 horsepower if tuned properly. So there's no way adding intake, exaust, and a chip gave anyone 70 hp, and S-10s don't come stock with 200 hp anyways, as already stated many times in this message board. Whoever said that they got 270 hp from doing those things lies, and the 0-60 time of 5 seconds flat is the biggest lie i've ever heard. EVEN IF YOU HAD 300 HP IN YOUR DAMN S-10 IT WOULDN'T DO 5 SECONDS 0-60. A 350Z has 290 hp, weighs less, is more aerodynamic, and has a 6 speed manual gearbox and it only does 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. Ugh...I could go on for days but i'm tired and don't wanna piss anyone off to much..

i would like to install a v8 chevy.in my 91 s10 which has a v6 in it now 2.8 liter.would be interested in any info.about problems encountered such as motor mounts,tail mounts,exhaust clearances.ect.THANKS.

you couldnt be more wrong the 95 4.3 high ouput w code puts out 200 hp and 260 tq the rest have 190 hp and 250 tq thats because of body change also stupid a$$ you ever hear of a typhoon thats a 4.3

I'm not sure if you mopar guys have ever heard of the '91 GMC Typhoon, but it runs high 13's stock, and the off-ilde 0-60 time is under 5.5 sec. Not to dis any 5.9's out there. Just sayin that the 4.3's are good stock, but respond extremely well to engine modifications.

I've got a 95 S-10, its no extreme its the TBI 155hp base model and it FEELS quick becuase its so light, but its slow as hell. The 4.3 is a great engine, so is the 5.9, but if you want something fast, try the 3800 Series II Supercharged Grand Prix with a smaller S/C pulley and around 270hp thanks to 11.5 PSI of boost. I love trucks, but please don't talk about 1/4 mile times. Trucks aren't fast. They don't have to be. Their meant to haul stuff. My Grand Prix on the other hand, is meant to haul ass.

Whats that place called when the R/T vs. Lightning drag races are cause i think u can qualify if u dont pass a 12 in the quarter mile. Truck can be quick as hell because of torque....but in the long range cars will beat truck because of the weight. I can blow the doors off my friends v-sux mustank and he will beat me in the quarter...so what let people do or think what they want to ....its just alot more funny when a truck will lite up a sports car and smoke them like a philly blunt!!!

First of all....V6 mustang? I saw a stock prelude rape a V6 mustang. SSSLLOOWW....both of them. (then I destroyed both of them in my Prix but thats beyond the point) I'm not sayin my Grand Prix is some supercar...and I honestly don't care. Its fast enough to crack a grin enery time you jump on it and get thrown into the back of your seat and I can have fun tearing thru curves without having to worry about tipping over. And yes....trucks can be fast, but when it gets to the point of Lightnings or SRT 10's or the good old Typhoons (which don't get me wrong..I love em all) they are hardly trucks. Even with all that power their towing capabilities can't match a true truck. If you want a real truck go for some 44 inch mud tires and lifts and a big block V8 with tuned exhaust...then who the hell cares how fast it is? I agree that people should have freedom to do whatever the hell they want to their cars, but let trucks be trucks and cars be cars.

I understand where your coming from and I totally agree with you but if you think about it when they first came with cars the had the "idea" of transportation and not racing in the end neither car or truck was ever intended to race but people have found ways that both can and thats how cars came alot better of racing vehicles than trucks but they both have their pruposes and so do mini vans...I mean reall who hops up a mini van and rapes a z28 camaro but hey like i said let them do what they want to.

Ok I agree with what you're saying, but when people talk like they're car awesome and the really have nothing...who doesn't that piss off? If you have a 200 hp S10 Xtreme....don't try and say you run 15's. no. you don't. I love the truck but my S10 can keep up with an Xtreme and mine's an extreme POS. All I want is people to be honest about their cars and don't over extimate them. I know my limits in the Grand Prix and I don't go racing people out of my league.

Exactly!!!! and neither would i race a z28 camaro...but i have for fun...cause i know how far my v6 will go and it aint the fastest..!
When i drove a ws6 thats what fell like a badass car not some truck or car that everyday people drive. I hate it when people say they can kill something in a race and when you ask them what size or liter engine they have theyre like (Duhhh...ummmm i dont know a 5.7 liter I-4?????)

Alot of mopar guys tune caravans. They put turbos in them and deck em all out. I've seen a 1989 Caravan do 13.8 in the 1/4

cars vs trucks ...cant have a fast truck cause then its no good for hauling.... i think not... performance diesels.... how bout the banks sidewinder... dakota with a 5.9 liter cummins... how bout my 2 diesels 2000 dodge dually with a 500 horse cummins diesel and a 1995 silverado 3/4 ton with a 350 horse 6.5 liter TD....now tell me you cant haul something really fast with a performance diesel
