Right here you are comparing two legendary engines. Both come right from each companys best engines. The 4.3 liter is a 350 with 2 cylinders shaved off. The 3.9 is a 318 with 2 cylinders shaved off. Both of wich I have owned. a 91 s10 blazer 2wd door. I also have a 91 v6 dakota. By brother sold the blazer but it had balls over the dodge. weight being a factor. But that 4.3 liter ran cirles in 99 around the 5.0 Ford exploders. Todays v6's are both great engines surrounded by poor quality electronics that most likely will fail before 100,000 miles. Either and injector will go bad or something dumb that shouldn't break will. That my opinion, more electronics and places for parts to fail. I like a simple carb or TBI. Though the MPI does create some great power as well as bigger problems.

interesting it seems that you have modified your pickup truck in order to make it accelerate faster. what a novel idea. WHAT THE FUCK does that have to do with stock s10s vs V6 dakotas?
and the 4.3 has more potential then the 5.9?? WHY?? what proof do you have of that?

they are both horrible engines as dodge has proven with the 3.7 V6 and 5.7 hemi and chevy with the smaller 4.2l I-6 that makes 90 more hp then ur 4.3 litres of waste matter

stock a 3.9 and 4.3 are almost even the 4.3 might have the edge but not much of one
in the end all that matters is who has the most money or whos mom has the most money

ok first of all dont all r/t's have the 5.9l v-8 of course it will beat a freakin Extreme unless u got alot of money like dude said but still. dont be a tard about obvious stuff I have no problem with either trucks but stating the obvious is kinda irritating. in fact I tried get my friend to get a r/t it was bad as hell but his dad was like screw that but anyways im out later

You know, the little s-10 might have the edge on a dakota as far as speed and acceloration, but lets see a 4.3 out pull a 3.9. I've had two 89 dakota 5 speeds with a 3.9(one 2wd and one 4wd) and a 91 blazer w/ a 4.3, and a 94 jimmy w/ a vortec 4.3. Granted that the two SUV's weigh about 1200lbs more than the dak's, i've pulled 1200 lb trailer with 3 fourwheelers on it and a fourwheeler in the back with no problems at all, could barely even tell its there. However using either of the blazers just throwing on the trailer made it feel like you had the parking brake stuck on, now either i had some seriously lemon chevy's, or chevy just doesn't know how to make something work hard. I have raced my friends 94 zr2 many times with both my 4wd and 2wd, he can take me off the line with both of my dodges, however as soon as i hit mid 3rd he's toast, esp. when i'm in the 2wd. Thats just personal experience i've had. Also, to whoever the hell said they bored theirs out to a 309, let me bore out my dakota to a 309 and lets see what your really made of. i can garuntee you wouldn't be bragging as much, i'm not saying the dodge would win, i'm just saying its a bunch of horse crap bringing in a modified motor into a stock forum. Whatever suits your fancy i guess.
