Everyone who is dising the S-10's are either stupid or ignorant!
First of all I own a 2000 S-10 Xtreme 4.3L V6
Yes it does get up quick!
my xtreme did 0to60 in 7 Sec's
And the clock that timed me was not a slow timer! The stop clock is owned by California Speedway (Fontana Ca.) Every other sat. night is Street racing night at the speedway With no mods it ran 0to60 7 Sec's
And a little info for those who don't know how much S-10 come stock! Horse power stock is 200 Flat
Now mods on my truck are:
Short Ram Senseless Cold air intake
Hp mod chip
Hyper programmed (engine Sensors)
Gibson Headers (straight/ Ceramic Coated)
Linked to a 2 staged Flow Master Exhaust muffler
No Gov
Switch over Tach W/MPH Gage pod
99 Camero Front suspension (Z28)
Disc Breaks all around W/ slotted/ Drilled Rooters
Hrp Now:270 Yes only a 70hrp(Dyno tested at Xtremeperformance Grand terrace Ca).
Difference But With other mods I run cooler and wit out a gov, I can't be catched After 3rd Gear!
0to60 Oh yea its around 5 Secs Flat!
I'v raced Supercharged lightings (Smoked)
Honda's, Acura's, Toyos, Even The Dodge Dakota’s
(Cuaght up to me-Smoked after 3rd gear)Fast but he was still behind me!

Model Lineup
There are two basic models in the S-10 pickup line, the rubber-floormat base model and the LS, which offers full civilian comfort.
That's only the beginning, however, as the S-10, like most pickups, comes in a variety of configurations. Both are available with either conventional rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The regular cab 2WD S-10 is available with in short box, long box and extended cab versions that span wheelbases of 108.3 inches, 117.9 inches and 122.9 inches respectively. The 4x4 models come in regular cab short box or extended cab models only. The standard engine on 4x2 models is a 120-horsepower 2.2-liter four-cylinder with a 5-speed manual transmission. A 180-horsepower 4.3-liter V6 is an option on 2WD S-10s; all 4WD S-10s come standard with the V6, which is tuned to produce 190 horsepower. A 4-speed automatic is optional with either engine.

where did you get your specs from buddy.i own a 96 dak 5 speed and i do the 1/8 of a mile in 10.5's and im at about 64 mph.so either my dak is super duper faster than every other one that was produced or your just a fat headed idiot<---im guessing your just a fat headed idiot...........

hang around hondas long enough and you realize that 0-60 is almost meaningless in a race. VTEC ;-). I got like a 1 or 2 car lead on an RSX Type S off the line(cuz he spun like a homo) and just as 75-80 rolled around he was gone...it was like I wasnt moving.

You got a problem if u think the chevy s-10 is better than the dakota. Yeah it may be rated 5 more hp but that dont make it any better. The horsepower per liter on the dakota is far greater than the s-10:
3.9 = 44.87 horsepower per liter
4.3 = 44.18 horsepower per liter

I don't think that's I said I have, did I? No I have a 2000 S-10 Xtreme (Regular Cab Ls)4.3L V6
W/ 5 speed Trans (200Hp) Wow that makes a world of difference, from a base model huh! Facts are straight but thanks for checking for me!

just because you have an extreme doesnt mean your motor (just like all the other 2 wheel drive 4.3s) makes 20 more hp. And a Five speed (i dont even think those are offered in the extreme) doesnt add power to the motor... just loses less to the drivetrain.
Just because this is a dodge forum doesnt mean we dont know anything about s-10's. I mean, we gotta know what we kill.

and im glad that your proud of my truck,and like intense said the extreme doesnt mean nothing for horse power its just another crappy atempt to sell trucks.oh yeah and my truck runs a 17.9/18 flat in the 1/4 bone stock.
and a another thing i dont have anything against the chevy trucks or ford trucks (different strokes for different folks) i just hate it when people come on here and lie about there vehicles and talk out there ass about stuff they dont know.so thanks and the real dad has to go bang your mom..

that seems pretty slow for a truck that goes 0-60 in 7 secs when i do 17-18's in the 1/4 and i have a slower 0-60 time.
those s-10's must have the top end of a station wagon.i dont know maybe you just typed to fast again;or maybe your just lying through your teeth again.
