Looking at buying a 2002 Dakota w/ 3.7L V6. Is it faster then the old 3.9? I know the 4.7 is better then the 5.9, so I figure the 3.7 is better then the 3.9.

I just bought a 2002 RC V-6, and under the hood is the 3.9... Yeah it's fast, can spin the tires into 2nd, and chirp them into 3rd.. but no 3.7... I LOVE IT!!

I might be wrong... but I think that the 3.7 hasn't been released yet.

The 3.7L is only on the RAMs and the jeeps for 2002.

honestly.... the 3.7l sucks,, my girlfriend has a jeep liberty with that boat anchor in it and it's garbage.... the 4.0 straight six had way more power then this pig has, the 3.7 feels like it has no torque and when you stomp it it winds up like it's gonna blow up.. Here's my ? to you why is it that a jeep grand cherokee had a 4.0 inline six and noone complains about power in it and that vehicle weighs way more then a dakota but everyone who owns a 3.9l dakota b*tches that it doesn't have enough power..... christ give me a break what are you expecting ??? your dakota to be a hemi cuda it's a v6 truck not a race car.. Oh yeah by the way most of the work trucks here happen to be v6 dakota's and they do just fine for whatever you want.. Maybe you don't put your foot in it enough, or maybe all your friends own v8's so you feel left out for some reason because you own a v6... all i have to say is if you don't like your truck get rid of it because all of us people who do like our v6's don't wanna hear it. I bought my truck because i liked it, not because it had a v6....
