 Subject: slowly losing antifreeze

any one have antifreeze problems.i lose about a gallon evry 5 months.is this normal?i have noticed no leaks or any in the oil.i get lots of exhaust fog but no more than other daks i've seen.i have exhaust water like crazy,pours out of the pipe all the time is this normal?i have a 4x4 3.9 with 49000 kms(31000 miles).any help would ease my mind.thanx

Hey Canadak there are a couple ideas you might want to check. One is you might want to check out your freeze plugs after you run it, have the ccolant system pressure checked...for any small cracks or leaks in hoses...etc., and worse case pull your spark plugs in the morning to see if there is any moisture on them. I hope these ideas might help.

hey canadak, check around your coolant sensor for any residue. I had the same problem of having to add coolant which i knew wasnt normal. My sensor was leaking coolant but it is tuck away in such a place that i didn't notice till my sensor failed.

I encountered the same problem with my 1998 after I bought it. Seemed it was always low on antifreeze. Found the problem was a bad radiator cap. Cheap fix...new cap.
