Subject: Muffler Installed IP: Logged
Message: Just wanted to say that I did my first performance mod and installed a Dynomax muffler, with the help of a friend and some advice from DakotaDan on this board. The biggest PITA was we got the wrong piece of pipe from AutoZone and had to go back a 2nd time. The truck sounds great and seems to get up to speed a little easier now.
For now I'm happy, time to start saving the pennies for an intake. :)

Glad to hear you got along OK, like you say now for the intake and a V8 or F&B TB ;)

Message: BAKS...you'd have to define "anything". I've got a 17748 Super Turbo on my V6, too, and it sounds like a...well...really throaty V6. IMO...V8??...no, no way. These other guys might disagree, though. I had a Magnaflow on it before the Dynomax, and it sounded pretty much the same, so it ain't the muffler's fault. I'm looking at putting something back on it that I can barely hear again, but still keep some of the flow advantages over stock...just need to figure out what.

Message: I installed the Dynomax 17748 on my truck. It is definately throatier than stock and I like it. To me, and I could be wrong, it sounds like a muffled V8, ALMOST reminded me of a 4.7L Dak I had as a loaner truck.
