 Subject: 95 v6 - lacks power

Hi,
My girlfriend ows a 95 v6 5.2L (I think its a 5.2)Dakota. Anyhow here is my problem. Her truck lacks power under acceleration. I have put in a new filter, and replaced the bad catalytic converter. But the engine still lacks power. What do you guys think the problem is? Should I change out the spark plugs, maybee new wires, and a distributer cap? Can this problem be something else? Any help would be great as I am new to Dakotas.Thanks!
