Subject: Sparkplug knock? IP: Logged
Message: Hey sometimes when I accelerate I hear a lil knock or a tick from the engine compartment. Only noticed in 5th gear if that helps. I don't have any less acceleration or loss of power... Could the plugs need to be changed? Or are they just not efficient? I have around 17k on the truck and the plugs have never been changed... Should I just pull them and put in the 3923's or change all the wires and stuff too?
Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Message: I had the same problem, except mine was knocking in all gears when accelerating. I just switched out to 3923s and it worked like a charm. Try that first, then maybe move on to the wires, cap, rotor... There about $1.50 each, so even if it doesn't work, you have new plugs and not a big chunk out of the pocket. Also try using mid-grade octane fuel. Good luck
