 Subject: Tranmission Error Code

My check engine light came on the other day and the transmition does not shift right from 3 to 4th gear. I brought the truck to my local mechanic to scan the code and it came back PO873A shift 3-4th gear error. He said it could be a seloid gone in the transmition. Has anyone had this happen before? Its it a big job to fix? I am wondering if it is going to cost me too much to repair.

had this problem $100 parts and labor at AAMCO 4th gear shifting is controlled by a module not mechanical as 1st to 2nd and 3rd
