Message: I think your right there! And when you can get them, they cost two arms and a leg. 0_o
I wouldn't go lower profle on the 16" rims, would likely look funny and might mess up your speedometer. I decidede that when I need to replace all 4, I'm just going to go get some R/T rims, supposedly there are more tires for those.

Message: hey man i'm in the same boat as you with the tires. I found a set of perilli scorpians at www.tirerack.com for like 85 bucks a peaic and the blow the Goodyears out of the water. I think i should be gettin them in the next few weeks. Either that or i'm going to lift my truck 2 or 3 inches and get the 235/70R15 or whatever the other stock tieres are.

Message: Very interesting question. I think all car manufacturers make deals with tires manufacturers to off load specialty sizes. I checked www.tirerack for compatible tires. Here is what I found:
1. Street/Sport Truck, Kumho Ecsta STX 255/65/16 HR $84 no reviews.
2. Highway all season, Good Year Fortera HL Edition 255/65/16 SR $129 reviews seem good.
3. Highway all season, Michelin LTX M/S 255/65/16 SR $120 reviews seem good
4. Highway all season, Michelin Cross Terrain SUV 255/65/16 HR $150 reviews seem great but expensive.
5. Highway all season, Pirelli Scorpian S/T 255/65/16 HR $119 reviews seem good.
6. Street/Sport Truck, Pirelli Scorpian Zero 275/60/16 VR $137 review seem ok but not that good in snow. This tire is just a bit smaller in diameter slightly affecting the speedo/odometer.
These have been the tires I was considering in a few years. I like to know my options. There were tire in the Goodyear Eagle LS performance. I believe all the tires I listed are better all round performing.
If you have a 4x4, you might consider a taller profile tire for extra height. I have a 4x2 so I would want stock or slightly less profile like the 275/60/16. I hope all this helps. Good luck.

Message: I have recently purchased (from directtire.com, I think thats it) the Pirelli Scorpian S/T's in our size. A little pricey, but I love these damn tires. It makes my 2wd dak seem like a 4wd at times. I have yet to get stuck on my const. site for my house, which currently has a 8' decline in mud. Hell I can pull straight in, and back out with no problems, so far I highly reccomend them.
What do you think of the Zero's for the spring/summer. I've had my dak a little over a year, 76,000 miles, and I would like to have to sets, one for winter and one for summer what do ya think?

Message: pbxr,
76K That alot of miles. Switching tires is probably great if you have the dough and the luxury of time to change the tires. Although, you chnage all that by buying a different set of rims. Heh, heh. If the Scorpian S/T are that good, why bother? Lower profile? Bigger tire patch?
So you like the S/Ts. I was choosing between Michelins LTX/S or Scorpians S/T when I need tires. Thanks for your input.
Smitty1000, write back and tell us your thoughts on the Kumho tires when you get a chance.

Message: I have (4) Goodyear RSA's 245/50/ZR16's on my truck(Came off of stock 2002 Camaro Z28) and i think that they look pretty good, but my truck is lowered 3 & 5 Inches. They handle good as my buddies' camaro does with suspension work now that my truck is lower. I bought them from him with like 2000 miles on them for $300. Goodluck finding your tires and PS i think that these tires would look really goofy if my truck was stock height.

Message: What I would like to know is should I invest the 200 for a Black Magic 150 which is around 200 bucks? Or should I just get a 100 dollar fan by perma cool and a 40 dollar electric thermostat? I believe the black magic already has a thermostat on the actual shround, IM not sure. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Message: I know this is an old thred but I told you guys/gals i'd give you a update on the Kumho Ecsta STX 255/65/16 HR . I've got 15,000 miles on them now. I love these tires! Drastic improvement on handling and traction. Wet traction is the most noticable. I highly recommend them.
