Subject: Splitfire plugs/wires IP: Logged
Message: Just wondering if anyone has tried Splitfire plugs and/or wires on their GENIII daks. with the 3.9. I'm NOT really looking for an increase in power, rather an increase in gas milage!!!!!
Thanks Gentlemen

Message: They work well. I used to run them on my V6 almost since day one. HOWEVER, i've since switched to the Autolite 3923's and will swear by them for the V6's and V8's. The wires are a quality set though. (Ran them as well)

Message: Does anybody have a mapping for wires from the spark plugs to distributor cap? I changed one side (3 wires) at a time, and thought I had documented where they went. I guess I got it wrong. Are there any diagrams showing the mapping for the wires? (I don't want to have to buy a Chilton's book.) Thanks.

If it doesn't fit, you're using the wrong hammer!

Message: Now i'm wondering if that is really bernd . I know nobody that run splitfire plugs for any length of time . They do absolutely nothing. Several years ago I had a retired uncle desided he was going to sell them just from reading the advertising. He had a ton of friends. everyone was being nice and bought a set but never bought another replacement set. He died with a garage full of those plugs .Tried selling them in his estate sale for 2 bucks a set. eventually they went to the dump.
So many problems .... So little time

Message: As a courier I've driven the better part of a million miles; a mess of them using Splitfire plugs, which I have used in my Cadillac, Pontiac LeMans, GMC Sonoma and the trusty Dakota V6.
I calculate mileage with each fill up, sometimes twice a day, so as you can immagine, I am in touch with what is going on.
All these vehicles not only lost performance and mileage using high octane gas, none showed any improvement using Splitfire Plugs.

Message: hey i just put a set of those bosch's in my truck. only because you didnt have to gap them though, as far as i can tell... no problems. and yes splitfires are not any good, i did a tune up on my first car about 5 years ago, it was a 1991 dodge shadow with 120k miles on it, and the plugs i took out of it mustve been 10 years old because they were all just black. so i put the splitfires in and the car ran WORSE. so then i just went and got the regular plug recomended for the car and it ran fine. from what i hear the only plugs that actually have a proven increase in performance are the halo's, but ive never seen them anywhere and i wouldnt even begin to know where to find them.

Message: the split fires run fine in the mag motors
The NGK V power plugs run better
stock heat FR4 1 colder FR5
obd1 .035
obd2 .040
$2.25 ea
Autolite run well $0.99 walmart
The best plug is the halo you can notice the diff
as soon as you put them in you will really notice
them under excelleration so much crisper and
cleaner reving $9 each and worth every penny
here is where I get all my halo's from Roger
http://www.haloplug.com/
We are also running them on the s/c trucks man
you can just here the diff under boost so much
crisper
If you run the halo's you need good wires like the
taylor 8mm or msd 8.5 they run a gap of .044
and it can not be changed they are also guranteed
for 100'000 miles not to foul or break
no guts no green stamps
no balls no beavers
try the halo's you will not be disapointed at all
they run beutifull in the mag motors stock ign
with good wires even better with a hotter coil
or the msd multi strike 6a box
For those of you to cheap to buy them I feel
sorry for you, your missing out bigtime
