5-speed or auto??? if 5-speed then i would just get a centerforce clutch, if auto then yes i'd do an upgrade...

unless you are gonna through a 500 hp 318 in there i dont think you need to upgrade your tranny.
if you plan on dogging the crap out of your tranny then you might need to upgrade...
other than that it should hold up well

I put a mild 318 in my 95 dak and my 42-rh went out within the month. I now have a built up 46-rh and so far this thing feels bulletproof. I have a foot of solid lead and the trans hasn't let me down yet.
