Hey, I have a 2000 dakota V6 auto club cab with magnaflow exhaust and my buddy has a 94 S-10 4.3 auto regular cab long bed stock. He keeps on wanting me to race and I'm not afraid but will never live it down if he beats me. Will he stomp me or will I actually have a chance?? His truck is lighter w/bigger motor but it has a lot more miles too. I know i could beat him top end if the 94 S10's shut down at 98 like the newer ones. What do you guys think?

the 94's cut off at 110, My dad had one with a 4.3, it was a 94, It would cut off at 110... His new 2002 Durango doesn't seem to cut off, That thing kicks ass (2002 Durango 4WD R/T 5.9) I havnt had my 91 Dak up to speed yet, so i dunno what mine does, The 99 Ram... I dunt member if that cuts off or not, If i remember correctly, we had it to 115 once on teh highway, but i dunt member if it cut off or not... Anyway, back to the point... ya in 94 The 4.3 cut off at 110, but it sounds like you have a pretty good chance... Go for it.

I know the there motor is bigger and the s-10 is lighter, but some how the dak always comes out on top, now if he has alot of mods being a 94 and all, you might want to be carefull, is exaust all you have rightnow? Well I have race many of them s-dimes and won, but It never was 3 car kill or something like that, but now with all the mods I have I dont think twice about running a 4.3. These 2 trucks are nemisis and all I have to say be confident and I belive you will smoke him. Just do it man and let us know what happens, if you loose I will tell you what cheap mods that could help out a lil.

Your CC weighs about 800LBS more than a RC S-10. Right now U better do some mods if u want to win, On the other hand if he is your buddy, Race him now to see where U stand. If U loose U can always try again later.
