Message: OK.....I modified my TPS sensor. Would doing that make my check engine light come on? My check engine light has been on, and it seems like it came on right after I did the modification. Any comments?

Message: Yes It could if the TPS voltage is out of range it will trip it.
You might take it to AutoZone and have them check the codes.
If you get these they are related to the TPS
P0122 TPS voltage low
P0123 TPS voltage high
P0121 TPS voltage does agree with MAP

What did you set the sensor at?
I know if you set it too high you and trip the computer code "TPS SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO HIGH"
You may want to bring it back down..
Hope this helps.

Message: Careful how tight you tighten the TPS. If it is too tight, now that the sleeves have been removed for adjustability, the voltage will read too high. I did this to mine and the thing wouldn't run right or shift right. The TPS voltage was reading 3.5v! As I loosened the bolts the voltage dropped. I got the P0121 error code too. Once I loosened the bolts it ran fine.
Hope this helps.

Message: Just disconnect the neg battery pole for a few minutes, that will reset the check engine light. Then measure the TPS voltage on the middle pole. If it's not close to .7v, then readjust it.
Overtightening the screws might offset the voltage and even damage the sensor housing...
