they had newer indy dakotas. 2000 i think
but as of 1987 im cluless as well

Actually the indy dakota was a '91 they were based on the 91 regular cab v8 sport. 91 sport trucks had the grey plastic airdam, and fender flares, with chrome bumpers, grey handles, mirrors and such. The Indy truck carried all of the sport pcs but they were all the same colour as the truck (red) with chrome bumpers, and the Official Indy 500 pace truck decals. I believe they were fairly well optioned. I have some paperwork (somewhere) on those trucks. If memory serves me correctly they had tube bumpers on the rear also. Hope that helps, I will try to find the info that I have.

I have a friend who has an 87'Indy Dak.
I also can't find anything, but they do exist.
Heck it even has the #'ed dash plate.
All decals are missing and the roll bar is gone.
Would like to redo it but I need info first.

I do own one. I have had it since 90 it is #840 and all it seems to be missing is the roll bar. There seems to be various ways the decals are on them. Some have the Indy wording and the 500 emblem and others like mine only have the 500 with the stripes. I have 2 pictures at http://www.dakota-truck.net/PICS/Y.html I am going to take a few more and send them to the web master here.

I also have a 1987 Dodge Dakota Indy Pace Truck. It is # 47. It is in excellent shape, however I would like to find some NOS or after market decal packages.
